Apple goes live across Asia

Apple inaugurated an online shop for the Land of Smiles on November 11. This has been long-overdue for Thailand. http://store.apple.com/th

Customers can now choose from the complete line of Macs and iPods as well as a wide array of accessories all priced in Thai baht. Apple software is also available. The Apple online store offers the same options for customising Macs that were available elsewhere, as well as the service for personalised iPod engraving.

Shipping is free for online orders over 2,000 baht and the store also has discounts for education purchases, made by teachers and students. Apple has a list of on;ine conditions for those who are eligible to use this service. http://store.apple.com/Catalog/Singapore/Images/tcTHedu.htm

Coming up to the New Year period, through the Apple online store, Red Special Edition iPod models are now available for the first time officially in Thailand.

Customers who order a Mac or iPod through the Apple online store will receive a limited edition Apple T-Shirt (while stocks last) to commemorate the opening. Of course you have to be in Thailand to get this and there is only one size: "L".

The number for telesales from inside Thailand is 001-800-65-6957 during normal working hours. Queries and orders made using the phone line can be dealt with in Thai or English.

There is more information on services online. http://store.apple.com/th/browse/home/campaigns/hello - xborder?mco=MjUzMTA4OQ

The same day the Thai shop came online, an Apple online shop for the Philippines also started.  By the following Friday there were Apple online stores for Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam also available, all with prices shown in the local currency.
